Practitioners

At ‘time to talk’ our vision and strength lies in our network of Speech and Language Champions. These are practitioners trained in all aspects of Speech, Language and Communication support for children age 0-5. A Speech and Language Champion has completed Tier 1-3 training and connects in with ongoing support. They carry the vision for supporting Speech, Language and Communication in their setting and may be the lead Champion, or work alongside a team of Speech and Language Champions.

At ‘time to talk’ we have a wide range of resources available to our Speech and Language Champions. Many of these are on this website including the Speech and Language Pathway, leaflets and posters, and events resources.

Our champions also have access to the password protected documents here

‘time to talk’ updates are available to champions via the Warwickshire Early Years briefings and our termly newsletters. Please email the team (timetotalk@swft.nhs.uk) if you’d like to be included in the newsletter mailing list.

We provide our ‘time to talk’ badges and other physical resources to our champions when they complete training.

‘time to talk’ Champions and their settings are eligible to apply for the ‘time to talk ‘Enhanced award. This award recognizes teams who implement all aspects of the ‘time to talk’ strategy and can evidence this in a portfolio. Again, contact the team if you are interested in applying for this.
